The Wrangler descends in a straight line from the Willys MB, the US Army’s reconnaissance vehicle. Introduced in 1986 to replace the CJ, it kept solid axles front and rear, removable doors and a removable roof. Few civilian vehicles can claim a military lineage this direct.
