The first Lamborghini quoted beyond 325 km/h. The Diablo took the Countach's brief and saw it through to the end.
Launched in 1990 with a 5.7-litre V12 and 492 hp, it succeeded the Countach on a Marcello Gandini line reworked by Chrysler, then the brand's owner. Eleven years on sale and around 2,900 examples, up to the 6.0 version assembled under Audi ownership.
